Seattle Sounders FC vs. FC Dallas: Hometown Heroes

Monday, July 12, 2010by  WALLY Team

There was no bickering about European ancestry as the Sounders took on FC Dallas Sunday. Sounders fans may have returned to Qwest Field with the vuvuzela buzz of the World Cup still ringing in their ears, but once again, everyone was on the same side — the  "I know I am, I'm sure I am, Sounders __til I die" side.

Young fans can now connect with their team more than ever before by joining the Sounders FC Junior Alliance. Alliance members will receive access to special events and exclusive Sounders gear, not to mention a chance to watch a game from the PEMCO Insurance Suite at Qwest Field! Visit Sounders FC Junior Alliance for more information.

As we chatted with Sounders fans about their match day plans, we learned they had something more than just revelry, game play, and stadium atmosphere in mind — they were interested in helping their fellow man.

The Legion of Extreme Soccer Fans is a group that stands out, and not just for their flashy face paint and over-the-top hairdos. The superlative soccer fans donate all proceeds from their club activities to Seattle Children's Hospital.

Erica and AJ are another pair of masked heroes from local non-profit Street Soccer Seattle. The heroic duo is on a quest to raise awareness and raise money to fight Seattle homelessness. The group is nearing the goal of sending their team, the Seattle Stars, to Washington D.C. for the U.S. Cup for Homeless Soccer.
