PEMCO has streamlined its glass repair process to make it simple for you. If you have comprehensive coverage, all you need to do is to choose a glass shop (your choice), and that shop will take care of all the paperwork directly with PEMCO.

You don’t need pre-approval. No need to create a claim beforehand. The shop handles that for you!

If you’re a PEMCO customer, we recommend you choose a glass shop that’s certified by the National Glass Association. Examples: Speedy (1‑888‑892‑9859), Safelite (1‑877‑664‑8931), or Novus (1‑800‑776‑6887).

If you've already had your glass repaired and want reimbursement, please send an email to PEMCOCSDClaims@pemco.com. Include the following information: Your policy number, date of the repair, vehicle repaired, glass company, and the amount. We'll take care of the expense according to your coverage.

And remember, a simple glass-chip repair does not require a deductible. We encourage repair, which leaves the windshield (and its factory seal) intact, rather than glass replacement whenever possible.

Record the facts you can safely gather.

  • Date, time, and location of the accident
  • The names, addresses, and telephone numbers of registered owners, injured people, occupants of other cars, and witnesses
  • Description and license numbers of the other cars involved

Your claims representative will walk you through the claims process. 

Here’s an overview of the process:

First, we’ll confirm the coverages in effect at the time of the accident and explain how they apply in your situation.  If we’re unsure whether or not there’s coverage, our Claims Department will investigate further and keep you updated on the progress of the investigation.

Depending on the kind of claim, we’ll investigate who is responsible for causing the damages.  Some claims require thorough investigation to determine liability and will be sent to our Claims Department.

While every claim is different, we’ve established solid processes for evaluating the damages on a claim.  These processes might include our Timesaver Repair Program, reviewing a submitted estimate, or working with a contractor to get a bid for repairs. 

Based on that evaluation, we’ll make payment under the provisions of your policy.  This may entail getting a release from someone who has a claim against you or may be as simple as paying the towing company’s bill.

If you’re hurt or your property is damaged as a result of someone else’s negligence and PEMCO makes a payment on your behalf, we’ll attempt to recover the money we’ve paid from the at-fault party.  This includes reimbursing you for your deductible from the first funds we recover.

Protect your property from further damage

  • This might include securing a broken door after a burglary or covering up your property to keep the rain out if it is safe to do so.
  • Keep records of any expenses so that your adjuster can review them.

An adjuster will be in contact with you promptly to discuss your claim.  They will advise you on the claims process, verify the coverages that apply to the facts of the claim, and will work with you resolving the claim. 

While PEMCO will gladly recommend quality contractors in your area (and guarantee the work of any contractor that we recommend to repair a covered loss), you’re always free to find contractors on your own.  Your adjuster will be there to guide you through the repair process and answer any questions you might have.

Remember that your PEMCO Homeowner’s policy does more than just repair or replace your home and property.  If your home is unsafe to occupy as a result of a covered loss, we’ll provide reimbursement for costs over and above your normal expenses that result from being temporarily displaced (such as restaurant meals or hotel expenses).
