Our March Nonprofit of the Month: Union Gospel Mission

PEMCO's Nonprofit of the Month program continues in 2018! The program gives our employees a chance to champion the organizations that mean the most to them, and for March, we spotlight Spokane where our employees nominated and chose Union Gospel Mission.

Since 1951, Union Gospel Mission's purpose has been to break the cycle of homelessness. They accomplish this by leading programs around survival needs, job training, recovery, youth outreach, and more. They believe "a better life is possible for people currently living on the streets and we want to do everything we can to encourage them toward that end – to offer real change, real hope."

Our employee Larry J. shares why he nominated this organization:

"To end homelessness, we must go beyond free meals and safe beds to the underlying causes. We must affirm each person's value and offer a pathway to a different life."

Larry encourages the same avenues Union Gospel Mission does for others to get involved: by giving time, funds, and your voice to ending homelessness. Read more about Union Gospel Mission programs and ways to give.

Advocates like Larry are one reason why we're proud to support local organizations like Union Gospel Mission that work to improve the quality of life in our communities.
