For the month of July, PEMCO employees selected Alderwood Boys & Girls Club to be recognized as our Nonprofit of the Month.
Since 1946, the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County has been "to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens."
Lynnwood employee John A. nominated and championed Alderwood Boys & Girls Club as a 2019 Nonprofit of the Month organization. Here's why the organization is important to John, in his own words:For over 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs have been helping kids in our neighborhoods stay in school, stay out of trouble, and succeed in life. Alderwood Boys & Girls Club serves children and families in need in the Edmonds School District, and
is the 2nd largest Boys & Girls Club in the United States. With sports programs, before and after school programs, and a teen center, they've created a supportive, safe, and positive environment for kids to spend their time.
Boys & Girls Clubs let kids be kids while learning to express themselves as young individuals and in group activities. Have you ever thought of coaching or mentoring youth? If so, contact your local Boys & Girls Club to seek out volunteer opportunities that will have a positive impact on our local youth.
