Vintage carousel steps closer to revival

Two sponsors have stepped forward with $1.5 million to revive the century-old Carousel of Dreams in Kennewick.
A group of local businessmen bought the 1910 Charles Carmel carousel in 2003 from a collector in Roswell, NM. Since then the city of Kennewick has invested $830,000 into restoring the 44 horses, which are in storage. Still needed are a building and the mechanical apparatus. The finished carousel will include a Northwest flair, with a WSU Cougar and a UW Husky accompanying the horses. Read the Tri-Cities Herald article.
