Impact local students through our 2024 book and supply drive | PEMCO
PEMCO’s annual school supply drive is back in 2024 . . . but with a twist! We’re excited to add books to the drive to support our partnership with the Seattle Seahawks. Through our shared commitment to supporting youth literacy, we’re coming together to bring books to youth across Washington. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young readers in the Pacific Northwest.
What is the Supply Surge Book and Supply Drive?
For years, PEMCO has linked arms with community partners, employees, and customers to collect much-needed school supplies for students in our Northwest communities. Over the past six years, we’ve collected over 780,000 items for over 60,000 students. This is just one way that we deliver on our commitment to making meaningful impact through our Mutual Good efforts for youth in our communities.
We’re excited to continue that impact this year and focus on bridging the literacy gap.
In support of our partnership with the Seahawks 12 Pages Reading Program, we’ve added books to the drive as we work to foster a love for reading and increase access to books. Having competency in reading by the end of elementary school is crucial for a child’s educational journey and future success. We’re excited to come together and do our part to tackle youth literacy by providing the necessary resources for youth who need it most.
How can you get involved?
The book and supply drive officially launched on July 29 and will run all the way through August 16. You can donate here. Every contribution counts.
The books and supplies donated will go straight to these local schools—nominated by our very own PEMCO employees—that serve students and families in need:
-
Cedar Valley Community School, Lynnwood
-
Cooper Elementary, Spokane
-
Deer Park Elementary, Deer Park
-
Ponderosa Elementary, Spokane Valley
-
Riverside Elementary, Chattaroy
-
Sheridan Elementary, Tacoma
In addition, the Seattle Seahawks selected another six schools. All schools are located in Washington state and will serve students who need the most support.
With our community partners (like you!), we know we can make a meaningful difference to inspire young readers and get more books into the hands of our future leaders. We’re better together.
Don’t wait until it’s too late!
The PEMCO Foundation will be matching donations made during the last three days of the Supply Surge (up to $5,000). That means if you donate between August 14 and August 16, you can double your impact.
Thank you in advance for your partnership and participation as we work together to make an impact for good in the Pacific Northwest.
