Shock staying in Spokane with new lease

On the day the Seattle Seahawks began defending their 2014 Super Bowl crown, Spokane football fans learned their own professional team will stick around several more years.
The Spokane Shock of the Arena Football League have renewed their lease at Veterans Arena for two years, with an option for a third. Fans had wondered about the team’s future when ownership changed hands in January.
Spokane marks its 10th year of indoor football in 2015. The Shock won the 2010 ArenaBowl on their home field, where an average of 9,000 fans attended each game this year. The team finished 11-8, losing to San Jose in the first round of the playoffs. Read about the new lease in the Spokesman-Review.
