Seahawks fans cover the most turf in U.S.

Is Dallas truly “America’s team?” Apparently not.
The Cowboys have long marketed themselves as America’s team, but a “Facebook Fandom Map” shows that based on geographic reach, the Denver Broncos appeal to the largest chunk of the lower 48.
And if you include Alaska, America’s team clearly is the Northwest’s own Seattle Seahawks.
The map reveals some peculiarities. Teams with a geographically small, hyper-local following include the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Fans of the Houston Texans don’t extend much beyond the greater-Houston area.
Dallas does, in fact, command broad appeal. Its fans cover most of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and – intriguingly – most of distant Nevada and the greater Boise area!
The poor Oakland Raiders aren’t even the most popular team in the east Bay and northern California. That distinction goes to the 49ers. But Oakland is the fan favorite in a wide band of Southern California that includes Los Angeles.
Check out Kentucky. Its fans can’t agree on whether to cheer for the Colts, Titans, Steelers, or Bengals.
And one team, sadly, isn’t liked best by any region of the country – even its home turf: the New York Jets. See the Facebook Fandom Map.
