Northwest ski areas open with improvements

Skiers and snowboarders will find upgrades at several Northwest ski areas, due to open soon as snow piles up.
     Among the changes: a new Silver Fir Lodge is under construction at The Summit at Snoqualmie; 49 Degrees North unveils its new Angel Peak double chairlift, which serves nine new trails; Mt. Spokane expanded its lodge; Stevens Pass added 40 new features for snowboarders; and Lookout Pass east of Coeur d’Alene installed a triple chairlift for beginning skiers.
