Our May Nonprofit of the Month: Safety Net

Monday, May 22, 2017by  Sharlyn Petit

Safety Net SpokaneFor the month of May, PEMCO employees nominated and voted for Spokane's Safety Net as our Nonprofit of the Month.

Safety Net's mission is to support former foster youth in their first post-foster care year, "helping them with the resources to stay in school, receive job training, and handle minor financial emergencies when they have nowhere else to turn."

Here's why Safety Net is important to our employee Tricia, who championed the organization to be one of our 12 for 2017:

"When foster kids 'age out' of the system, often they are on their own. They may not have a place to live, a way to get to school or even money for food. Safety Net helps unconditionally with their most basic needs and lets them know they are not forgotten."
