by PEMCO Insurance
- Employees put in a cumulative total of nearly 50 hours volunteered between four different nonprofit organizations: Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, Adopt-a-Highway, Spokane Conservation District, and Forterra
- On top of helping compost, weed and clean up Mountains to Sound’s nursery, volunteers potted 100 plants
- 20 bags of trash on the highway were filled through our Adopt-a-Highway volunteer event. Items included paper products, plastics, Styrofoam, toys, windshield wipers, masks, gloves and more.
- Volunteered alongside Spokane Conservation District to restore a rock quarry into a beautiful urban forest environment. Work included spreading wood chips and tree planting.
- Planted 110+ trees and removed invasive species in a North Seattle urban forest with Forterra: Green City Partnerships
Not only did we make an impact on the environment, but our support was felt by the local nonprofits who have felt the impact of the pandemic.
“You all truly did help make a difference,” shared Swan Phongwarinr, Mountains to Sound’s Volunteer Coordinator. “These differences will soon be a part of even bigger impacts throughout the Greenway. It was great to meet your team.”
Giving back to the community is part of who we are at PEMCO and opportunities to volunteer with local organizations help us come together for good.
