Do you have enough coverage for your learn-from-home computers?

August 30, 2020 by PEMCO Insurance

With most schools resuming classes online in the fall, chances are you’ve already outfitted your school-age kids with laptops (and maybe a printer, second monitor and a mouse) to handle all those assignments. Add to that the computers you already had, and you might be wondering if your policy still has them all covered. The answer: Yes! PEMCO places no special limits within your policy on computers, tablets, phones, video cams, printers and other accessories that are solely for your personal use. (Check with your school district for coverage if your children are using equipment on loan from their school.)

As with all your personal belongings, your PEMCO policy protects your computer and accessories from covered losses like water damage, fire and theft. It can’t cover breakdowns or help with damage from viruses. If you’d like that kind of protection, you may want to explore extended warranty options or a service contract with the store where you purchased your computer.

So good news! Your family can stay safe learning from home knowing your learn-from-home tools are safe, too!
