Celebrate Giving Tuesday with PEMCO's Season of Giving
Let's honor Giving Tuesday together!
At PEMCO, we’re committed to being a force for good in the communities that we serve. Through year-round volunteerism and giving opportunities, we provide impact for local nonprofits in three focus areas – Youth & Education, Environment and Safety.
As we approach the holiday season, we know this impact is even more critical to youth in need. This time of year can be difficult, especially for those facing housing insecurity or those who find themselves in unsafe environments.
For Giving Tuesday and PEMCO's Season of Giving, we’re leading a holiday toy drive benefiting three employee-championed nonprofits whose missions inspire us – Treehouse, Vanessa Behan, and Boys & Girls Aid. We invite employees, customers and friends to join us in providing much-needed toys and items to help these organizations deliver on their life-saving missions. Create a moment of joy for our region’s youth by making an online donation Nov. 16 through Dec. 7.
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a "global generosity movement." Founded in 2012 as a direct response to the hustle and bustle of shopping many of us engage in throughout the holidays, it's an opportunity to do good and think beyond oursleves.
We’re proud to support local nonprofits that are doing great work for our local youth that need it most through our Season of Giving effort.
-
Meet Treehouse: Treehouse provides support to more than 7,100 foster youth across Washington state – giving them a childhood and a future. Treehouse's services include academic support, well-being support, & much more. They envision–and strive to create–a world where every child that has experienced foster care has the opportunities and support they need to pursue their dreams and launch successfully into adulthood.
-
Meet Vanessa Behan: Vanessa Behan was founded after the death of a local infant so that parents in crisis would have a safe place to bring their children for childcare and somewhere to turn to for education, counseling, and resources to find help. Their primary services include: 24-hour child care for infants and children under the age of seven, parent education, crisis counseling, and referrals other community agencies. Learn more about Vanessa Behan’s resources for parents.
-
Meet Boys & Girls Aid: For over 130 years, Boys & Girls Aid has created a home and connections for Oregon youth growing up without families. They serve children waiting in foster care throughout the state, providing programs geared toward foster care, adoption planning, shelter and housing, and family trainings. It is their mission to make sure every child in foster care grows up in a family – a family who knows their history and are invested in their future.
As we close out the year and celebrate Giving Tuesday, we invite employees, customers and friends to join us in providing much-needed toys and items to help these organizations deliver on their life-saving missions.
Beginning Nov. 16 through Dec. 7, you can be a part of our Season of Giving by donating through the secure YouGiveGoods platform. Each nonprofit has a unique shopping cart to fit the needs of the youth they're serving. Gifts include clothing, games, toys and more.
As we reflect on what we’re grateful for, we’re proud to have such a strong community to help us make impact in our Northwest communities.
