Meet our April Nonprofit of the Month: EarthCorps

Friday, April 6, 2018by  Sharlyn Petit

earthcorps_logo.jpgOur Nonprofit of the Month program gives our employees a chance to champion the organizations that mean the most to them, and for April, we're shining the spotlight on EarthCorps.

For the past 25 years, EarthCorps' mission has been to develop leaders to strengthen community and restore the health of our environment. They accomplish this by building a global community of leaders through local environmental service. They support volunteer programs, neighborhood groups, school partnerships, and individuals as they "steward and shape natural areas that foster community health and quality of life." They work to ensure that people and nature can thrive together.

Our employee Eric S. shares why he nominated and champions the organization here:

"I have volunteered alongside EarthCorps stewards and leaders and am impressed by how they teach environmental stewardship in our communities. They bring together passionate, hardworking adults for year-long environmental leadership training, and Puget Sound is their 'classroom.' After volunteering with EarthCorps in our communities, I felt proud to have made a difference locally."

Advocates like Eric are one reason why we're proud to support local organizations like EarthCorps that work to improve the quality of life in our communities.
