Our Northwest

Despite rampant ID theft, gain some solace

Wednesday, October 7, 2015by  Jon Osterberg

Are we doomed to endure these threats forever in the high-tech era? A recent Seattle Times headline: Cyberattack on Experian may affect millions of T-Mobile customers
T-Mobile is the just latest company to suffer a serious data breach, joining high-profile brands like Home Depot, Target, and Premera Blue Cross. So their customers shift into angst mode, not knowing if their identities might be stolen today, next month, or a year from now.
I’m probably less stressed than those poor folks because I know that, as a PEMCO customer, I have access to ID Smart, a value-added service given automatically to all PEMCO customers.
Even if I simply suspect I might have had my identity compromised, I can connect with a personal advocate who walks me through everything that needs doing to protect me.
This is particularly relevant for us who live in the Northwest, because Washington and Oregon recently ranked 2nd and 3rd among the worst states for frequency of identity theft.
If you’re a customer who would enjoy a little peace of mind, read more about PEMCO ID Smart. Don’t worry, it’s not a sales pitch – again, this isn’t something you pay extra for. It’s a value-added service.

Vicki, as a PEMCO policyholder, you DO have access to PEMCO ID Smart. Again -- for you and all of our customers -- it's automatically provided, simply for being a PEMCO policyholder.

I have been a member of Pemco Insurance since 1963 and would like to have this protection.
