Over the long weekend, the WALLY team joined thousands at the annual Ski to Sea Race in Bellingham. Though the morning started out wet and rainy, the Skis In The Rain Guys (and gals) felt right at home. Roughly 500 teams competed in this year's race, as skiers raced through the slush, bikers pedaled through the rain, runners ran through the cold and canoes paddled across the river. No matter what place they finished in, once the teams reached the finish line, they were all ecstatic to complete the race, even if it meant being a little soggy!
This year, Ski to Sea featured a special team, the EOD Warriors. Fitting for an event hosted on Memorial Day weekend, the EOD Warriors were a team of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians. For those who don't know, EOD techs disarm, render safe and dispose of a variety of unexploded military and terrorist devices. Each member of the EOD Warriors was wounded during duty, while serving in either Iraq or Afghanistan. The team's overall goal was to raise awareness for wounded soldiers, and their presence made this event even more enjoyable, as the men were honored on stage.

The winner of this year's race was Barron Heating. Since 1996, Barron Heating has won the Ski to Sea race an amazing 11 times, including last year's race!

During the post-race celebration the WALLY team offered souvenir photos to commemorate such a great event. We love taking photos of the event attendees and interacting with so many new people. Through the rain, everyone still seemed to be in high spirits!
