Seattle is nation's priciest destination

Friday, August 31, 2012by  Jon Osterberg

Looking for a Labor Day weekend destination? If you’re thinking of Seattle, bring a fat wallet.
Seattle is the country’s most expensive destination over the long Labor Day weekend, thanks in part to the annual Bumbershoot festival. Seattle visitors will pay $312 per night for the least expensive 3-star hotel room. The No. 2 and No. 3 most-costly destinations are Virginia Beach ($309) and Atlantic City ($286).
If you want an affordable Northwest destination, consider Portland, which at just $170 per night is a bargain in comparison. Even San Francisco is only $179. Read the Global Travel Industry News article.
