Sasquatch makes an appearance at the Snoqualmie Tunnel Bike Ride & BBQ

Sunday, June 30, 2013by  Kelsey Preston

Over the weekend, the WALLY team headed to Rattlesnake Lake for the Mountains to Sound Snoqualmie Tunnel Bike Ride & BBQ. We were excited to be at the finish line, waiting to congratulate all the NW Action Figures and even some Recumbent Bike Commuters as they finished their ride!

The WALLY team added to the excitement, debuting our very own Sasquatch! OK, so it wasn't the real Sasquatch, but all those Desperately Seeking Sasquatch were elated to take a picture with the next best thing at the post-ride BBQ! While some kept their distance, others even offered their bike seat to Sasquatch!

For those who didn’t know, the John Wayne Pioneer Trail that was part of the ride stretches all the way from Ellensburg to Seattle! Luckily, the participants only had to ride from Snoqualmie Pass to Rattlesnake Lake, which is still a huge accomplishment.  We learned that the favorite part of the ride for some was the 2-mile portion through the dark tunnel. This trail is a decommissioned rail line that’s been turned into a trail for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities.

The WALLY team had a great time at the Snoqualmie Tunnel Bike Ride & BBQ. Check out our events calendar to see where we'll be next!
