Road rage incites 81-year-old to pull gun

Tuesday, August 19, 2014by  Jon Osterberg

Here’s an unusual twist on teen drivers and road rage.
Teens often get typecast as being emotionally reactive, prone to respond to rude drivers with their own aggressive driving. But on Aug. 8, it was a teen on the receiving end of road rage.
18-year-old pizza delivery driver Eric Fidelis was cut off by an 81-year-old man in Boca Raton, Fla. The two stopped and exchanged words before the teen drove home.
The elderly driver followed Fidelis, pulled out his .38 caliber handgun, pointed it at the teen and threatened him. Police arrested the man, jailed him, and charged him with aggravated assault.
“I’m on the road every day,” Fidelis said. “I know next time, just keep driving.”
