New bike lanes coming soon to Spokane

Friday, July 12, 2013by  Jon Osterberg

Bicyclists should find downtown Spokane more to their liking later this summer.
This week the city council approved $400,000 to complete the Downtown Bicycle Network, a big element of Spokane’s Master Bike Plan. Six miles of new routes will stretch through the city’s core, including painted bike lanes on Second, Fourth, and Fifth avenues, plus Sherman Street and Riverside Avenue.
Cyclists will be able to connect with other expanding bike routes – the Centennial Trail, connecting Riverfront Park to North Summit Blvd. via Kendall Yards, and the Ben Burr Trail, which currently stretches southeast from Liberty Park. Read the Spokesman-Review article.
