This past weekend the WALLY team was sent undercover to dress up as Northwest Profiles in the
Grand Floral Walk Parade . Being a fan of hiking and the outdoors, yours truly dressed up as a
NW Female Action Figure. This year, the
Portland Rose Festival partnered up with
Mascots For A Cure and made the attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Mascot Gathering. Although we didn’t break the record – it was fun being a NW Profile for the day. The WALLY team has participated in our fair share of parades, and we’d like to share some of our expertise tips on how to best enjoy watching a parade.
-Get there early: Arriving early allows you enough time to find a comfortable space to watch. It’s not any fun if you can’t see the view!
-Bring chairs/blankets: Sitting on the hard ground isn’t comfortable at all! Bringing chairs and blankets is key if you want to be able to enjoy the parade in style.
-Pack snacks: Parades don’t always start on time and sometimes go later than planned. In any case, if you bring a pack full of snacks then you’ll be sure to not go hungry!
-Bring a camera: Take lots of pictures so you can remember the memories for years to come!
We hope to see you at the next parade, and be sure to wave and say hi!
