Mild NW winter possible, say scientists

Scientists are forecasting warmer and drier temperatures throughout the Northwest in October, followed by normal temps and below-normal rainfall for November and December. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued an El Nino watch, and if El Nino indeed forms, it will be the first in the Northwest since the winter of 2009-10.
     Did September’s weather seem unusually nice to you? If so, you’re right – it was the third-driest ever in Seattle, with just 0.03 inches of rain. Those with long memories might recall only two drier Septembers, in 1975 and 1991. Read the Everett Herald article.
