Marshal warns of Christmas tree hazards

Friday, December 28, 2012by  Jon Osterberg

Each year, news reports surface about Christmas trees catching fire and torching homes. Take note, if you’re one of the many who leave their tree up through the New Year holidays.
The Washington State Fire Marshal reminds us that not only should real, cut trees continue to be watered until removed from the home, they shouldn’t be left in a house or garage or placed against the house after removal. It takes only seconds for a dried-out tree to ignite and engulf a structure in flames. Check out this recent fire department video.
