We’ve all been watching the news about those affected by the growing number of wildfires prompting evacuations and threatening hundreds of homes. Our thoughts go out to the families affected and the emergency and rescue teams working on the scenes of these fires.
The dozens of fires burning throughout the Northwest remind us that wildfires are an ongoing, annual threat to our communities, and there are ways you might lend a hand.
Check out The American Red Cross western wildfire donation page. Your donations help American Red Cross Disaster Relief and volunteers provide immediate resources and for individuals and for community recovery. Read more about their work in the Northwest Region here.
Other local agencies like Chelan Valley Fire Relief Fund and Okanogan County Community Action Council are accepting monetary donations for fire-relief efforts. Check out a list of organizations in this Seattle Times article.
Another way you can help: Spread the word to friends, family, and customers about our wildfire prevention and preparedness Don't Get Burned campaign. Our website has resources and tips to help homeowners in wildfire-prone areas protect their property, as well as links to the latest information about Northwest wildfires, air quality, burn bans, and more.
