Future is fuzzy for Spokane’s Imax theater

When Spokane built its 399-seat, five-stories-tall Imax theater at Riverfront Park in 1978, it was one of just 20 Imax theaters in North America.
   Now, a city board has recommended closing the money-losing Imax for six months in 2013. Attendance has ebbed to literally zero some days, in part because the theater’s projector can’t play digital movies, limiting Imax offerings. The city is exploring new digital equipment that could cost up to $1.2 million. Read the Spokesman-Review article.
