This past Saturday, shoppers from all around the country came together to find crazy bargains on designer goods at the 28th annual Goodwill Glitter Sale at the Seattle Goodwill.
It's an annual event for many shoppers, too, who brave the cold, dark November morning to line up before the doors open — many for hours nearing double-digits — to get first dibs on high-end fashions donated to the Goodwill throughout the year.
We spoke to people who had been coming for more than five years, along with others who were brand new to the sale and excited to see what all the hype was about. But the most incredible story we heard was from a man who had been coming for the past 3 years...from Los Angeles! He said that he comes all the way to Seattle's Glitter Sale because it is truly second to none. And he would know — he's traveled the country in search of a sale that might trump the Emerald City's.
At 9am the gates opened and the first 350 shoppers were unleashed. Some knew exactly what they were in search of, others were open to any good deal they may find. It was a madhouse, but all in attendance were having a great time in support of a great cause!
The calm before the storm....volunteers prep some glittery goods
Some scanned the aisles for the perfect gown for "walking down the aisle!"
Dooney & Burke, Coach, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Manolo Blahnik are just a few of the designer brands that can be found at the Glitter Sale.
If you missed this year's event be sure to catch it next year. In the meantime, we'll be heading east this weekend for the
Jingle Bell Run - Spokane. See you soon!
