According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, 62% of households own two or more cars, 31% say it would be easy to make do with fewer, but just 9% said they’d like to actually give up owning their car. Also, car-buyers consider price, MPG, body style, and safety in that order. How about you?

According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, 59% of residents have no AC at home, and of the 39% who do, just 51% use it regularly when it’s hot. One-fourth say using AC is too costly, and 32% don’t think it gets hot enough around the Northwest to use it. How about you?

Do you use all of the vacation time you’ve earned?

According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, 21% of residents didn’t use any vacation last year, and 25% of vacationers admit they’re not likely to completely disconnect from work via their electronics. Also, “stay- cations” are trending down, with just 11% saying they spent their time off in the town where they live. How about you?

According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, although 87% of residents are concerned about wildfires this summer, and 58% know that clearing a fuel-free buffer around the home is important, 39% of those in fire-prone areas admit they haven’t fully prepared. How about you?

Cars and bikes sharing roads: what’s the biggest cause of tension?

According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, although 63% of drivers are comfortable driving near cyclists, 56% say unpredictable cyclists cause problems, and 34% say cyclists break traffic laws. From cyclists’ perspective, 58% say drivers are inattentive, and 27% say they drive maliciously. What do you think?

According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, renters worry more than homeowners about neighborhood safety: 23% are very concerned about it, and 50% know <25% of nearby neighbors. But 59% of homeowners aren’t worried about safety, and they’re twice as likely as renters to know most neighbors. A correlation?

According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, 25% of NW drivers put bumper stickers on their cars. And about 20% of drivers admit they react to stickers: 21% drive more polite if they agree, 18% drive rudely if they don’t. For people under 35, more than one-third react. How about you?

According to the 2015 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, 30% of NW women say they’ve changed their own oil, versus 74% of men. And 74% of Oregon men have installed tire chains, versus just 61% of Washington men and 48% of NW drivers overall. How about you?

According to the 2014 PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll, about 40% of NW drivers don't carry blankets or a first-aid kit in their cars. At home, 16% never cover their outdoor faucets with a foam bib, and 31% rarely or never check their yard for cracked or unstable trees. How about you?
