Question you asked: My 20-something’s landed back in the nest. What’s that mean for my insurance?

You're certainly not alone! A record 57 million Americans now live in multigenerational family households according to Pew Research Center. While we can't help you sort out whose turn it is to do dishes, we can make sure your insurance keeps pace with the changes under your roof. For example:

Homeowners insurance. Will your son or daughter be storing an apartment full of furniture at your place? Bringing any high-value items like jewelry, artwork, or musical instruments? If so, we can increase your personal property limits or, if needed, add a special endorsement to protect particular items. And if you're planning some remodeling to accommodate your new roommate? We can adjust your coverage to protect that investment, too.

Auto insurance. We need to know about all drivers living in your household. Will your child be adding his or her car to your policy? Driving your vehicles? Keeping his or her own insurance? We can update your policy the same day you call.

Umbrella insurance. If you don't already have that extra $1, $2, or $3 million layer of liability coverage, now might be the time to consider it with more visitors likely to stop by your home or, perhaps, even ride in your vehicles.
