SEATTLE – PEMCO Insurance today donated $5,000 to the Arson Alarm Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing arson. PEMCO hopes the reward will help prompt anyone having information about the person responsible for a flurry of Seattle-area fires to step forward.
PEMCO's $5,000 donation is in addition to Arson Alarm's existing $10,000 reward fund. The reward is for information that enables authorities to arrest and convict the arsonist.
"This is a very time-sensitive public-safety issue," said Stan McNaughton, PEMCO CEO and president. "With others, we want to provide incentive to stop this person before more innocent victims lose homes, property, and perhaps their lives."
Anyone with information about the identity of the arsonist can call Arson Alarm 24 hours a day at 1-800-55-ARSON. Callers don't have to be certain their information is important, and they don't have to leave their name.
Established in 1978, the Arson Alarm Foundation seeks to reduce loss of life and property by increasing arson awareness and teaching the public how to fight arson.
