SEATTLE – PEMCO Insurance today announced it will donate $10,000 to Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center to conclude the company's promotion with Tully's Coffee that challenged customers to devise "super-long" coffee orders.
Throughout the promotion, PEMCO pledged to donate $1 to Children's for each customer who submitted a personal – sometimes outrageous – "super-long" coffee concoction. Tully's took point in selecting weekly winning entries based on creativity, taste and unique Northwest flare. Now, at the promotion's end, PEMCO is making a gift to Children's Hospital in the names of all weekly winners.
"This partnership with Tully's, which stemmed from the 'Super-Long Coffee Orderer' profile from PEMCO's ad campaign, was a great success," said PEMCO spokesperson Jon Osterberg. "The promotion let us have some fun with a quirk shared by many local coffee drinkers, partner with a great Northwest company that shares our vision, and most importantly, give back to an exceptionally deserving cause."
Take a look at some of the winning entries from the promotion:
Sally Rampersad of Seattle:
"A double grande, split shot, extra hot, soy intense dark chocolate mocha with no foam, one extra raw sugar and extra whipped cream, with a sleeve on the cup."
Elizabeth Wade of Bothell:
"A half-caf, grande rice milk latte with five dashes of cinnamon in the bottom of the cup, two pumps sugar-free Irish cream syrup, very light foam, 175 degrees, in my personal cup so I get a 10 cent discount."
Don Godfrey of Seattle:
"Veinte, iced, two percent quad ristretto, split shot 'Cookies and Créme' mint mocha. Go easy on the ice with 1 3/4 packets of Equal, no whip, topped with velvety, bone-dry foam and a dash of cinnamon."
Jenaea Bush of Everett:
"Veinte cup of ice with soy poured over it until the bottom of the 'u', then filled almost to the top of the cup with chai, then add 1 1/4 white chocolate and six pumps vanilla. Stir, then add two ristretto shots on top. Stir again and serve."
Susanna Filley of Bothell:
"Tall nonfat latte. (That's it but try making that order with a four year-old who is nose-to-nose with the pastry display and it takes five minutes of interruptions to explain, 'no honey, not today.')"
Christina Mason of Seattle:
"Veinte, triple split-shot caramel macchiato, heated to 190 degrees, half full. Add whipped cream, cinnamon and vanilla powder. Serve with a straw and caramel sauce drizzled on the lid."
Denitra Henderson of West Seattle:
"Grande vanilla and caramel latte in a veinte cup. Half whole milk, half nonfat milk. One pump vanilla, two pumps caramel sauce (not syrup). Extra hot with one inch of foam and ristretto split shots poured over the top, two Splendas and an extra cup instead of a sleeve."
Annaliese Abbey of Seattle:
"Two shots steamed with eight ounces nonfat milk and one pump chocolate to 200 degrees, poured into a large mug for here and topped with three inches thick, creamy nonfat foam. Top with a cursive letter 'L' in chocolate sauce."
In addition to helping raise money for Children's, each winner received a gift bag and $100 gift card compliments of Tully's.
"Through support from the community and leaders like PEMCO and Tully's, Children's is able to continue their work to support patients and families in our area," said Peggy Walton, Children's Hospital Board of Trustees. "We are honored to receive this gift from PEMCO as a result of its creative collaboration with Tully's Coffee."
