PEMCO Insurance receives accolades for creative radio ads

​​​SEATTLE – PEMCO Insurance is proud to announce the company's "We're A Lot Like You" ad campaign earned awards for "Best Announcer," "Best Client Campaign," and "Best of Show" at this year's Soundies, the region's 23rd annual radio advertisement award show sponsored by the Puget Sound Radio Broadcasters Association (PSRBA). 

PEMCO's "We're A Lot Like You. A Little Different" campaign hit the airwaves in September 2007 and celebrates the Northwest's values by highlighting the characteristics found in many of this region's residents. The campaign includes television, outdoor, online, and direct mail, along with radio.

"Since we launched the campaign, listeners and our own internal audiences continue to overwhelm us with positive feedback as they relate to the Northwest profiles featured in our ads," said PEMCO's chief marketing officer, Rod Brooks. "Receiving these awards is an honor we share with our team of creative marketing partners."

PEMCO and DNA Brand Mechanics, the agency behind the creative commercials, took home the awards for: "Best Client Campaign," which recognizes a series of spots designed to work together; "Best Announcer," which salutes Henry Dardenne for his delivery of PEMCO's Green Lake Power Walkers ad; and "Best of Show"  – the highest honor of the Soundies – given to the campaign deemed to be the best across all categories of entries.

"It's always rewarding to produce a creative campaign that resonates with listeners in our area and also to receive recognition from our peers in the industry," said Dan Gross, executive creative director and founding partner of DNA Brand Mechanics. 

Ads featuring PEMCO's host of quirky, yet recognizable Northwest profiles, including the "Walla Walla Wine Wine Woman Woman" and "Super-Long Coffee Orderer" among several others, will continue to run through the summer months. Listeners can expect to hear about other profiles as the company plans to unveil more Northwest types later this year.

PSRBA's Soundies recognize the creative and production process for outstanding commercials, station imaging, live broadcast elements, talent, and production for commercials produced and aired the previous calendar year.  Presented on May 15, 2008 at Seattle's McCaw Hall, this year marked the PSRBA's 23rd year sponsoring the awards.
