WALLY celebrates the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival's 2014 Art Print Artist

This past Thursday, the WALLY Team traveled to Wenatchee to celebrate the artistic works of Claudia Wiggins, this year’s 2014 Art Print Artist. Dozens gathered from around the area to congratulate Claudia on her work at the Pybus Public Market. While we were there, we learned quite a bit about Claudia’s personal history as well as her service to her community, and the WALLY team would like to share it with you!

Claudia grew up in the beautiful orchards of Peshastin, Washington. She attended the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!), and upon graduation moved back to Wenatchee to start a family with her husband. Claudia always had a passion for painting, so when she retired from teaching three years ago she began to study with master artist Jan Cook Mack.

Her favorite scenes to paint are of the beautiful Wenatchee Valley and of her wonderful grandchildren. Drawing from her love of the Valley, her print for this year is titled “Mt. Cashmere.” Claudia chose this scene because she loves being able to see the view of the mountain every day from her home in the beautiful Valley of which she grew up. To this day, she still enjoys hiking the trails and hills of Mt. Cashmere.

Claudia has been an integral part of the Apple Blossom Festival for years now, and we were honored to share in a celebration of her past work and her present success. The WALLY team cannot wait to be back for all of the Apple Blossom festivities, and we hope to see YOU there!
