Seattle “Storms” past the Tulsa Shock in this weekend’s preseason home opener

After several months of waiting, KeyArena is once again rocking to the sound of thousands of loud and proud Storm fans. After fighting tooth and nail the entire game with multiple lead changes down the stretch, the Storm pulled off a victory winning 63-59 against the Tulsa Shock. Tina Thompson led all scorers with 19 points, including a put-back off her own shot to give the Storm the lead with 38 seconds left. Although it was just the second preseason game of the year, the Storm looked to be in mid-season form, so we can’t wait to see what lies ahead in the regular season.

Before the game started, the WALLY team had some hoopers of our own competing in our Free Throw Down competition with our Pop-A-Shot basketball hoops. Although it was the first home game of the pre-season, these Storm fans really brought their A-game. In fact, our winner this week was Amber, who made over 100 points within the allotted time! Already the bar has been set high for the season, but we're sure we'll have many more competitive Storm fans to challenge this high score.

Finally, after their exciting win we headed to court level to host an autograph signing with players after the game. We would like to extend a thank you to the Storm organization, players, and especially the fans for starting this season off on the right foot. See you at the next game on June 2!
