Rude driver? Not me, it’s the ‘other guy’

Friday, September 7, 2012by  Jon Osterberg

aggressive driverAggressive driving is down slightly in Washington and remains unchanged in Oregon, according to the latest results from the PEMCO Insurance Northwest Poll.

What's really interesting is, the results show that 61% of Washington and Portland-area residents say they haven’t behaved aggressively behind the wheel, but 96% of those people say other drivers do, and 17% of those self-proclaimed polite drivers said they saw others drive aggressively 20+ times in the past month.

The amusing deduction being, most drivers see themselves as polite and typically blame rude driving on "the other guy."

You can read the full results of PEMCO's Polite Driving Index poll, and you also can take an informal version of the poll to see how your own responses compare with those officially surveyed.
