Pumpkin paddlin' in Tualatin

The WALLY team just wrapped up a busy weekend, which took us all the way to Tualatin, Ore., to race a giant pumpkin across a lake. Yes, you read that right!

Elliott, our amazing brand ambassador, battled (or should we say paddled) it out with many fierce competitors, including the the mayor of Tualatin, for the bragging rights as this year's West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta champ.

The 9th annual Pumpkin Regatta hosted spectators from all across the Northwest to witness costumed characters paddle their way across the lake in 1,000 pound pumpkins.

Elliott, or shall we say “Desperately Seeking Sasquatch,” made fourth place this year among his strong leprechaun and pirate competitors.

Another favorite of the day was the pumpkin weigh-off competition. The giant squash were closely inspected and prepped for measurement.  Racing pumpkins were sent to the lake and the heavy-weights headed for the scales. Congratulations to Steve Daletas and his massive 1,531-pound pumpkin for winning this year’s contest -- an event record!

We spent the rest of our day getting to know Rojo the Llama and enjoying the live music on the commons, while snapping souvenir photos of some of our new Oregon friends.

WALLY and the brand ambassadors are certainly feeling the fall spirit and we hope to see you for a scare at Nightmare at Beaver Lake in Sammamish Friday and Saturday night.
