Marymoor Park: A Dog's Best Friend

As our Northwest summer gives way to cooler autumn air and rain, the PEMCO brand ambassadors ventured out to the beautiful Marymoor Park to find our inner Marymoor Off-Leash Dog Person.

With a bag full of doggie treats in one hand and PEMCO biodegradable doggie bags in the other, we were on a mission to make some new canine friends and to figure out why dogs love this park, sometimes referred to as the Doggie Disneyland.

We asked a few dogs — and by dogs, we mean their owners — what they enjoy most about the Marymoor Off-Leash Dog Park.

Monk took a liking to PEMCO brand ambassador Lucas during a
visit to the Marymoor Off-Leash Dog Park

Monk (pictured above), a rather shy member of the Basenji breed, and owner Lee Monk told us the sense of freedom kept them coming back to Marymoor Park for daily exercise.

"There are very few times when a dog can roam free nowadays, and allowing Monk to have the freedom to run and play is what we love most," he told us.

Bringing his pal to Marymoor Park also gives Lee a chance to take daily photos of Monk and his dog friends. He posts the pictures on his dog-friendly website.

There's plenty of room to roam for corgis Bella and Katie

Mother-daughter duo Bella and Katie — Welsh corgis — and owner Amanda take full advantage of having the space to play fetch.

"I love to come to the park to let them run and play," Amanda told us. "They love their tennis balls!"

Bella and Katie were pleased with their PEMCO doggie treats, but were rather eager to get back to their game of fetch. And who could blame them?

There you have it folks, directly from the dogs who strut around the 40-acre Off-Leash Dog Park.

Whether it's the love of swimming in the nearby waters of Lake Sammamish, the doggie friendships forged on the park grounds or the chance to roam free to their heart's content, Marymoor Off-Leash Dog Park offers something for every man and their best friend.

If you haven't already been here, find your inner Marymoor Off-Leash Dog Person and bring your pooch so they too can discover this canine paradise.
