He carries a business card, “Seattle’s Biggest Sports Fan,” and at 11 a.m. today, Northwest icon “Big Lo” will raise a Seahawks 12th Man flag atop PEMCO’s Seattle headquarters, just south of Lake Union along Interstate 5.
The 12’ x 8’ flag, custom-made in Tukwila, will fly proudly to signal Sunday’s playoff matchup between the Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons (10 a.m., PST). And how long will it (and PEMCO’s Go Blue rooftop spotlights) stay? At least until the Seahawks collect their Super Bowl rings Feb. 3 in New Orleans, of course!
Joining Lorin “Big Lo” Sandretzky on the rooftop will be a handful of PEMCO employees – Supercharged Seahawks Fans themselves – who pulled out all the stops to take the flag idea from yappin’ to flappin’ in less than a week, following the Seahawks wildcard victory over the Redskins. Notable among the rooftop fans is Jim Menzies, who has had Seahawks season tickets every year since the team’s inception in 1976.
