Five simple steps can aid New Year diet

The holidays are over. You’re swearing off cookies, eggnog, candy, peppermint mochas, and pie.
   It’s time for the dreaded annual New Year diet.
   Don’t despair. The foodnetwork.com says there are five simple ways you can lose weight. One is seldom mentioned, but practical – use a paper towel to blot grease from food. And not just fried bacon. For example, think of the excess oil that saturates pizza, melted-cheese dishes, hamburger patties, and hash browns.
