Teen driver, have you ever done something embarrassing behind the wheel? You’re not alone!
A survey from insure.com reveals a whole lot of goofs by adult men and women. These are experienced drivers, not teenagers still honing their skills.
Have you ever driven over a curb in a parking lot? Half of all women and 43% of drivers overall have done it.
How about driving away with something on your car roof, like a cup of coffee? Almost one-third of drivers said yep, done that too.
I suspect a common goof might be dropping your money or food at a drive-through window. Oh, you’ve done that? So have 26% of adult drivers. I’d guess that’s doubly awkward if the person serving you is a classmate.
I’ve done this: accidentally started my car’s panic alarm and couldn’t turn it off quickly. Usually it’s when I’m stuffing my keys into my pocket, and the remote alarm button gets pushed. Twenty-two percent of drivers have done that.
The most common goof for drivers 65 and older (you shouldn’t have to worry about this one – yet) is driving away from the gas pump with the nozzle still in the car, which 11% of drivers have done. How embarrassing is that?
For drivers of all ages, the most common mistake is forgetting where you parked. It’s probably not really all that embarrassing, since 52% of drivers do it.
