Cougs ponder, what if Price had stayed?

Friday, November 23, 2012by  Jon Osterberg

Former WSU football coach Mike Price, 66, whose overall head-coaching career spanned 31 years, is retiring.
The former Cougar icon concludes his ninth season at Univ. Texas – El Paso on Nov. 24. While coaching WSU from 1989-2002, Price compiled an 83-78 record and led the Cougs to the 1997 and 2002 Rose Bowls, but then was lured to Alabama for a high-salary job that never materialized after a scandal torpedoed his future.
Still beloved by much of Cougar Nation, many wonder how Wazzu might have fared had Price never left Pullman. Read the Spokane Spokesman-Review story.
