Tri-Cities is home to fastest production car

Friday, May 31, 2013by  Jon Osterberg

The world’s fastest production car, the 270-mph Ultimate Aero, now calls the Tri-Cities home.
   West Richland, to be precise.
Jarod Shelby, founder of SSC North America, has broken ground on the international headquarters and 28,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that will crank out his supercars, which sell for $700,000. He plans to boost annual production from six cars to 24.
Why West Richland? Shelby is a Tri-Cities native and said he looks forward to introducing buyers to the area and “taking them to wine tasting country.” Read the Tri-City Herald article.
